The Arab International Academy – Doha places strong emphasis on empowering students in Arabic and English as the two main languages of instruction, while also offering the opportunity to learn a third language, such as French or Spanish. Students in Grades 6 to 8 study Mathematics and Science in English, while continuing to develop proficiency in the three languages at levels appropriate to their abilities and diverse linguistic backgrounds.
History is taught in either Arabic or English, depending on the student’s first language. The Academy places particular importance on this subject due to its central role in shaping identity, strengthening a sense of belonging, and developing a deep and critical understanding of the past. At the same time, history education broadens students’ perspectives, fosters understanding of other societies and cultures, and promotes respect for cultural diversity.
In line with this vision, the Academy has developed a Global History curriculum for Grades 6 to 10. It is delivered in Arabic or English according to the student’s first language. The curriculum achieves a thoughtful balance between strengthening identity and cultivating an informed openness to the wider world.
