Middle School
The Middle School at Arab International Academy includes students from Grades 6 to 8 and implements the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). The programme focuses on developing students’ research, thinking, and creativity skills, while fostering a love of learning and lifelong learning, supporting a smooth transition to subsequent stages of education.
At this stage, the Academy is committed to supporting each student’s development according to their individual needs and interests, and to providing a learning environment that encourages independence, responsibility, and self-confidence.
Middle School students study Mathematics and Science in English and continue learning the three languages—Arabic, English, and French or Spanish—at varying proficiency levels. History is taught in either Arabic or English, depending on the student’s mother tongue, in a way that respects linguistic backgrounds and promotes deeper understanding of the subject.
The Academy places particular emphasis on the teaching of History due to its central role in strengthening identity, fostering a sense of belonging, and developing critical historical understanding. At the same time, it seeks to deepen students’ awareness of, and respect for, other societies and cultures. To this end, a Global History curriculum has been developed for Grades 6 to 10. It is taught in Arabic or English according to the student’s first language and offers a balanced approach that connects local roots with a broad human perspective.
