Education for Sustainability
Arab International Academy – Doha adopts a comprehensive approach to Education for Sustainability that extends beyond traditional curriculum boundaries. It aims to cultivate awareness, critical thinking, and positive action among students. Sustainability concepts are integrated across different areas of learning, enabling students to understand the interconnectedness between environmental responsibility, social justice, and economic equity.
This approach is grounded in experiential learning. Students engage in analyzing real world issues, exploring innovative solutions, and applying their knowledge in meaningful contexts. Assessment practices extend beyond measuring academic knowledge and also evaluate students’ ability to apply their understanding in addressing contemporary sustainability challenges.
Through this pathway, students develop a strong sense of responsibility and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to participate thoughtfully in decision making and advocate for positive change. Through collaboration, critical thinking, and purposeful action, students become active agents of change, prepared to contribute to a more sustainable future for themselves and for generations to come.
