Q: Is the Arab International Academy a co-educational school?
A: Yes, the Arab International Academy is a co-educational school across all educational stages.

Q: What curriculum does the Academy follow?
A: The Academy is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) from Grades 6 to 8. These programmes are delivered within an educational framework that respects the local cultural context and promotes integrated, holistic learning.

Q: What is the language of instruction at the Academy?
A: The Academy follows a bilingual education model through two learning pathways:

  • Kindergarten:
    Children learn in both Arabic and English.
  • Primary School (Grades 1 – 5):
    • Arabic Language Pathway: Arabic is the main language of instruction, with advanced English instruction. French or Spanish is taught as a third language.
    • English Language Pathway: English is the main language of instruction, with advanced Arabic instruction. French or Spanish is taught as a third language.
  • Middle School (Grades 6–8):
    Mathematics and Science are taught in English. Students continue learning the three languages at varying proficiency levels. History is taught in either Arabic or English, depending on the student’s mother tongue.

The Academy places special emphasis on the teaching of History due to its vital role in strengthening identity, fostering a sense of belonging, and developing students’ critical understanding of the past. History education also deepens students’ awareness of, and respect for, other societies and cultures. To this end, a World History curriculum has been developed for Grades 6 to 10 and is taught in both Arabic and English.

Q: What facilities and amenities are available at the Academy?
A: Arab International Academy-Doha offers modern and diverse educational facilities, including science laboratories, clinics, libraries, a school cafeteria, indoor and outdoor sports courts, as well as dedicated spaces for music, visual arts, design, technology, and performing arts.

The Academy also provides sensory rooms, an educational kitchen and garden, prayer rooms, school theatres, and learning support rooms; ensuring that students’ academic, creative, and physical needs are met within a safe and stimulating environment.

Q: What types of extracurricular activities does the Academy offer?
A: The Academy offers a wide range of extracurricular activities that support students’ holistic development. These include social, athletic, artistic, cultural, and educational activities.

Activities are held during and after school hours and aim to strengthen students’ sense of belonging, develop their skills, and provide diverse learning experiences through sports teams, competitions, and a range of internal and external opportunities across various fields.

Q: What is the age range of students at the Academy?
A: Students range in age from 3 to 14 years old, from Kindergarten through Grade 8.

A: Each class accommodates a maximum of 25 students.
